Author's notes: Sorry if I failed. I tried my best but I guess I just can’t manage to do this stuff properly. I’m so sorry.
Original prompt: from yummyda "3 in the morning at a diner in the middle of nowhere is the last place you think you want to be. Turns out, it's not that bad. (Or road trip AU, but the car breaks down and he/they can't afford a hotel if he's/they're going to afford to fix the car)"

It was past one in the morning and being in a dingy diner in a town in the middle of nowhere in Japan was the last thing Jimin had in mind. The dull fluorescent light and the consistent hum from the old air conditioner made him sleepy. The hoodie hung low in an attempt to cover his face also made his eyes feel heavier, but the thought of being stuck in the place for the night made him too uneasy to think about rest.

‘Not like we have a place to stay anyway.’ He sighed at the thought, stabbing his fork against the pasta before taking another unwilling bite. Even food couldn’t give him any comfort right now. The spaghetti on his plate was too greasy and the fries were too salty, he had lost his appetite after the first bite. He grimaced before pushing the plate away, choosing to take a sip of the orange juice instead and nodding in slight approval. At least the drink tasted well.

“This is your fault,” he narrowed his eyes at Taehyung who looked comfortably seated across him. “If you didn’t insist on staying behind, we should have been with the rest of the group having our well-deserved sleep by now.”

“Don’t whine,” Taehyung responded with a cheeky smile. “You enjoyed our date as well.”

Jimin watched him take a big bite of his burger and chew enthusiastically. He grudgingly admitted Taehyung’s claim to be true but the thought didn’t make him feel any better.

The group had another one-night gig in Osaka and because of their busy schedule, they were supposed to immediately head back to Tokyo earlier this day. But Taehyung, already missing a lot of opportunities to visit the Universal Studio he so wanted to go to, fueled with the desire to see the life-size characters of Shingeki no Kyojin, pleaded to stay longer. “Just a day,” he promised, “I’ll be back before tomorrow’s schedule starts.”

Surprisingly, the managers agreed and even left the car for their disposal. Taehyung called it a rare display of kindness and generosity. Jimin was convinced it was because of Taehyung’s insistent, two-hour whining that made the others give in. Looking back, he figured it was actually an act of cruelty when their manager refused to give them the company credit card, leaving them to spend their own money for the day – which they did quite extravagantly, buying foods and trinkets here and there. Now they were left with almost nothing, not even cash for gasoline. The little money they had left were spent on cheap meals in the small diner because Taehyung needed his food.

They already called Namjoon, explaining their situation and asking for help, but the leader regrettably informed them that they were too far and nobody was willing to go back for them at this time of the night. The managers would only be able to do so early tomorrow. Yoongi reprimanded them for being too careless and added that this might be a lesson for them to learn. Jin was gentler in reminding them to be safe and to stay in the car and lock the doors. “Never trust strangers,” he had said as the call was ending. “We promise to get you guys as early as possible tomorrow.”

“Why did I stay behind with you again?” Jimin asked the other, placing his right elbow on the table and propping his cheek on its palm. His annoyance had dwindled, replaced by an unexpected appreciation to the fact that he was alone with Taehyung, a rare opportunity considering their lifestyle.

“Because I asked you to,” Taehyung answered with a shrug. “And you love me enough to accept.”

“Sometimes, I regret that part,” he chuckled, knowing his gaze was too fond for his words to be true. Taehyung returned his gaze with greater adoration. Ah, maybe they could just look at each other like this for the rest of the night.

“At least we’re together right now,” Taehyung said after a beat, throwing a kiss and a wink towards him. “You and I against the creatures of the night, baby.”

“Eew,” Jimin groaned as the words broke the atmosphere, face scrunched in fake-disgust.

“That’s disgustingly greasy.”

“Doesn’t matter. You love me anyway,” Taehyung retorted immediately, perfect brick smile in place. Jimin shook his head with a fond smile. For a moment, everything felt better.

But the moment was cut short when a server approached to inform them that they were closing for the night. That was when Jimin noticed they were the only people left aside from the only two servers, a cashier, and perhaps a cook hidden behind the kitchen door. They apologized for staying too long before paying their bills and leaving.

The walk back to their car was long and silent. The night was dark and cold and no other person was in sight. Taehyung supposed he ought to be ready by now, expect a ghost or a psychopath to come out of nowhere and attack them. He was thinking of the best ways to protect Jimin until he was pulled out of his thoughts when short fingers weaved against his longer ones.

“This is nice,” Jimin mused beside him, “being able to hold hands without worrying somebody will see.”

“Yeah,” he murmured in agreement, looking sideways at the other. “Seems safe, too.”

Jimin giggled in response, cheeks rounding up and eyes disappearing in slits. His heart fluttered. It was difficult to breathe when Jimin was looking perfect under the soft glow of street lamps, he didn’t even notice that they already stood beside the car until Jimin let his hands go to open the door to the backseat of the black sedan. He was reminded yet again how strongly he felt for his shorter one and the urge to assert it had never been so strong. Perhaps he could use this unfortunate situation for that purpose.

He stood still for a few minutes outside until Jimin called him from within.

“Yah, Kim Taehyung, get your ass in here!”

Jimin threw his jacket carelessly in the front seats. He smiled to himself as the taller entered the car after him. Taehyung was lost in his thoughts again, perhaps imagining strange creatures that could attack them. But before he could ask about it, Taehyung already had his arms wrapped around him. Jimin momentarily froze, surprised by the action, but he didn’t push the other away. Instead, he reciprocated by tugging him closer.

“What’s up?” he asked.

“You smell nice,” Taehyung said, nuzzling his cold nose against Jimin’s jaw.

“That tickles,” Jimin giggled when Taehyung inhaled deeply. He knew what would come next, what almost always comes next whenever Taehyung was already this close, and he wasn’t wrong. He felt Taehyung’s smile against his skin before the hold loosened enough for them to find each other’s lips.

The kiss was eager and enthusiastic and Jimin felt his back being pressed against the car’s door, bringing Taehyung along as he refused to let his lips go. Jimin’s short legs stretched out, occupying on the whole backseat. The taller felt good against him and Jimin couldn’t resist arching his back to press himself closer to the other.

‘This is a bad idea,’ his mind huffed. The space was cramped, it was anything but comfortable, and the car wasn’t even theirs to begin with.

But it was difficult to think straight when Taehyung was so close, so warm. Instead, Jimin found himself opening his lips to deepen the kiss. He moaned as their tongues battled of dominance, his own hands finding their way under Taehyung’s sweatshirt. He ghosted his fingers over the other’s skin, relishing on the reciprocating groan from the taller and loving the feel of smooth skin and firm muscles under his palm.

Taehyung let go of his lips to trail more kisses down his neck. Deft finger roamed Jimin’s body until Taehyung’s left hand settled at the small of his back while his right hand cradled Jimin’s head. The taller pulled his body closer towards him while he tugged his hair to bare his neck for better access.

“Tae,” Jimin gasped, eyes shutting tight as Taehyung nipped at the juncture of his neck. His own hands found their way on the other’s back, leaving crescent-shaped marks he knew would disappear before the night was over. But their bodies were so close, and the pressure on his crotch as it pressed against Taehyung’s own was giving him just the right amount of pleasure.

“You know I love you, right?” Taehyung whispered as he faintly moved against him and Jimin could only nod, sinking lower on the leather seats until he was lying down. He parted his legs to accommodate Taehyung between them. “I love the way you smile, I love the way you laugh. I even love the way you would pout or act cute just to get what you want. Even when you’re angry, I still love you.”

“I…” ‘love you, too,’ he wanted to respond but forming words was too difficult as Taehyung continued his moving against him. And gods, the friction was delicious.

“I love your voice. When you sing, when call my name, when you moan it, when you scream. I love hearing you in whatever way possible,” Taehyung continued, hands cupping his cheeks as he peppered kisses all over his face in between words – his eyes, his cheeks and chin, his forehead, down to his nose – and Jimin felt like drowning but floating at the same time. “I love it when you look at me like I’m the strangest person alive. But I love it better when you look at me like I’m the only one you need in your life. Can you open your eyes and look at me like that?”

And he did. His eyes fluttered open and he looked at Taehyung like he was the only thing he needed in his life. Because he was his life and he loved the other just as much as the other loved him. They searched each other’s eyes, finding mirroring emotion of love, trust, and adoration. And he would have been contented just gazing at each other but Taehyung’s face was getting closer and Jimin couldn’t help but close his eyes once more as their lips touched. There was gentleness and leisure in the way their lips moved against each other, no battle for dominance, just pure affection and contentment as they both poured their emotions through the kiss.

And oh, oh, Taehyung was still moving, pressing harder against him and the pleasure was making Jimin dizzier by each second. Jimin threw his head back, drawing a shaky, deep breath as he reached his peak without warning, never mind that he was still fully clothed and his erection was trapped within the confines of his pants, almost painful with sensitivity. He couldn’t care so much, not when the warmth on his heart was ignited into a fire that consumed his whole body.

Taehyung followed after a few more movements, shuddering against him as he came while, nuzzling his face on his neck once again.

Jimin remembered to be thankful that both of them wore black leather pants at the moment. It would be sticky and uncomfortable later on but at least the stain wouldn’t show.

They remained still for a few more minutes just holding each other, catching their wits and their breaths. And when Jimin was confident he could speak once again, he lightly slapped Taehyung’s shoulder before asking.

“What the hell was that?”

“Dunno,” the other answered sleepily, nosing him. “Just want to tell you I love you I guess.”

Jimin snorted, noting Taehyung’s clingy habit while finding his answer strange.

“I’ll be cringing my way to next decade with that amount of greasiness,” he said, combing his fingers on the other’s hair.

The other simply hummed in response, perhaps too worn-out to answer properly. But his hold against Jimin tightened as if he never wanted to let go.

“But just so you know,” Jimin added after a few beats, “I also kinda, a little bit, love everything about you.”

It was three in the morning and sleeping in a black sedan in a town in the middle of nowhere in Japan was the last thing Jimin had in mind. But with Taehyung now underneath him, acting as a human bed with both arms wrapped protectively around him, Jimin knew he shouldn’t really complain. At least they were together.

With these thoughts, he laid his head back down on the other’s chest and let his heartbeat lull him back to sleep.
